Lebanese President: Will do "everything possible" to stop Israel's war against Lebanon

Golden Finance reports that on May 19, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said on the 18th that he will “do everything in his power” to adopt “the least costly means” to stop Israel’s war against Lebanon and its people, preventing the country from being drawn into a larger conflict. According to a statement issued by the Lebanese Presidency, Aoun made the remarks when he met a delegation from the Lebanese Agricultural Union at Baabda Palace. Aoun said that the conditions the Lebanese side set for ceasefire negotiations with Israel include Israel withdrawing from the territories it occupies, achieving a ceasefire, the Lebanese army deploying along the border, displaced Lebanese people returning to their homes, and providing Lebanon with economic and financial assistance. Aoun stressed that “any statements to the contrary are not true.”
