Zerohash obtains European EMI license, expanding compliance capabilities for stablecoins and brokerage services
Golden Finance reports that on May 19, the crypto infrastructure service provider Zerohash Europe received an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license issued by the Dutch Central Bank, becoming the first company to hold both an EU MiCA crypto license and a full EMI qualification.
Zerohash had previously obtained a MiCA license from the Dutch Financial Markets Authority in October 2025, allowing it to provide crypto asset services across the European Union.
With the acquisition of the EMI license, the company will be able to handle both crypto asset services and traditional electronic money transfers, especially suitable for payments and settlements related to stablecoins.
The European Banking Authority has previously clarified that some stablecoin fund flows may be considered electronic money activities, requiring relevant institutions to obtain additional EMI licenses.
Zerohash stated that the dual-license structure will enable it to provide compliant infrastructure for banks, brokerages, fintech companies, payment service providers, and corporate platforms in the European market.
