These days, watching on-chain transactions, the more I look, the more I believe that "slowness" is the only way to counter MEV front-running. You think clicking to exchange is the end of it, but in reality, there are a bunch of people behind the scenes racing to reorder, change paths, and slip in to eat your slippage... The affected are basically those who are eager to complete the transaction and have a very loose tolerance, especially small orders which are most likely to be used as fuel.
Now I’m even a step slower: setting slippage to a fixed limit, splitting orders, and preferring to wait for the next block. When I see strange large orders crowding in front and pushing around, I just don’t chase them. Recently, some regions have been tightening taxes and compliance, then loosening again, causing a chaotic flow of deposits and withdrawals. Everyone gets more flustered, and the more anxious they are, the more they send the front-runners the wrong way. Moving slowly isn’t shameful; I don’t want to use impulsiveness to chase the illusion of “successful transaction.”
