Golden Finance reports that on May 19, U.S. President Trump stated on the social platform “Real Social” that at the request of the leaders of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, he has ordered that the military strike on Iran scheduled for “tomorrow (the 19th)” will not proceed as originally planned. Trump said that given the ongoing serious negotiations, and in the view of these leaders and allies, both sides will ultimately reach an agreement. Importantly, this agreement will explicitly include the following core terms: Iran must not possess nuclear weapons.
Trump stated that he has instructed Secretary of Defense Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kane, and the U.S. military that the strike on Iran scheduled for the 19th will not proceed as planned. But he also issued a further directive: if a satisfactory agreement is not reached, the U.S. military must remain on high alert at all times, ready to launch a comprehensive, large-scale military strike on Iran.
