I now use a two-word mindset for L2: save effort.

When the mainnet gas is expensive, I feel distressed, transferring funds feels like rewarding miners...
But don’t treat L2 as a free lunch either, crossing chains/bridges back and forth, the gas saved might all go to “waiting” and “transaction fee margins.”

Once new L1/L2 incentives start, they begin to pull TVL, the page looks incredibly prosperous,
Old users mining and selling while complaining is also quite real...
Funny and frustrating: you say it’s ecosystem growth, but looking at the net inflow on-chain, it’s like doing gymnastics.
Anyway, my compromise is: frequent small transactions and interactions on L2;
For long-term storage and important assets, stay on mainnet/cold storage, less fuss.
Don’t slide away from security just for a “smooth experience.”
