Techub News reports, according to AMBCrypto, that the Iranian government has launched a Bitcoin-based maritime insurance platform called "Hormuz Safe," allowing ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz to settle insurance fees using cryptocurrency, aiming to bypass Western financial systems and the SWIFT network. The platform is expected to generate up to $10 billion in revenue, covering 20% of global oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, Iranian maritime insurance mainly relied on Western financial institutions; this move to use cryptocurrency for settlement marks an important attempt by the country to de-dollarize its financial infrastructure.
