Recently, a whole bunch of terms like “data availability / ordering / finality” have been flooding the scene again. Plainly put, I’m going to focus on one main thread: whether everyone has seen your transaction, what order it’s been written in, and whether people might later regret it. If I can figure out these three things, I won’t bother memorizing all the flashy jargon…
The testnet incentives and points scheme is also really tempting. In the group, people ask every day whether the mainnet will issue tokens, and I’m also tempted—but with so much information right now, it really makes me a bit anxious. My filtering method is pretty basic: first, look at what it uses to guarantee that “it won’t be changed in the end” (finality), then look at who decides the ordering. If those two aren’t clear, even if the points sound tempting, I won’t jump in—I’ll save some energy for portfolio rebalancing. Anyway, if I end up losing, I’ll have to review it later.
