Bitcoin Pizza Day is an "expensive" legend celebrated annually by the crypto community on May 22nd.

On May 22, 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz, a programmer from Florida, posted on a Bitcoin forum, exchanging 10k bitcoins for two Papa John's pizzas from a 19-year-old. The total value of this transaction was later revealed to be nearly 100k bitcoins. At that time, these bitcoins were worth only $41, but at today's prices, they are approximately $820 million or more.

Faced with the astronomical "missed opportunity," Hanyecz himself took it in stride. He has always emphasized that the significance of this transaction lies in proving that Bitcoin can circulate in the real world, not just as a concept in code.

Because of this, May 22nd has been designated as "Bitcoin Pizza Day" by the global crypto community. Every year on this day, people celebrate by eating pizza, hosting gatherings, and online events to commemorate the historic moment when Bitcoin first became real currency. #Gate广场披萨节
