The CME Group and Nasdaq are preparing to introduce Nasdaq CME Crypto Index futures on June 8, marking a major expansion in regulated crypto derivatives and a new step forward for institutional market structure.

The product is designed as a market-cap weighted crypto index future, giving traders exposure to a basket of leading digital assets — including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Cardano, Chainlink, and Stellar — through a single, financially settled contract. This approach allows institutions to hedge or speculate on the broader crypto market without managing multiple individual positions.

According to reports, the launch is pending regulatory review but is already positioned as CME’s first-ever crypto index futures product of its kind. It reflects a growing demand from institutional investors for simplified, compliant, and capital-efficient exposure to the digital asset ecosystem.
