According to the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), a healthcare worker from Ascension Island exhibiting hantavirus symptoms was admitted to Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London on Saturday for specialist assessment; meanwhile, nine UK residents who may have been exposed to the virus are scheduled to arrive in the UK later on Sunday. These individuals from Saint Helena and Ascension Island are currently asymptomatic but will complete self-isolation in the UK under NHS supervision. The outbreak related to the "MV Hondius" cruise ship has resulted in at least 11 passenger reported cases, with 3 deaths reported so far.
