And I’m looking for where to invest money in the stock market and started researching regulated trading platforms in Mexico. The truth is, there are more options than I thought, but not all are the same.

The first thing I learned is that regulation is key. In Mexico, there is the CNBV (National Banking and Securities Commission), which supervises most of these local brokers. Some like Actinver, GBM, Kuspit, and Bursanet are all under this regulation, giving you some peace of mind with your funds. There is also CONDUSEF, which protects users.

Regarding the regulated trading platforms in Mexico I found, each has its own vibe. Actinver is one of the oldest and most well-known, but they require a minimum deposit of 10,000 pesos, so it’s not for everyone. GBM is more accessible, starting at 1,000 pesos, and offers decent tools. Kuspit is the most basic but educational, ideal if you’re just starting, with a minimum of only 100 pesos.

What’s interesting is that there are also international alternatives. Mitrade is regulated by ASIC (Australia) and allows trading CFDs on stocks, currencies, indices, and cryptocurrencies. The minimum deposit is low, 20 dollars, but it’s a different style of trading.

The thing is, if you’re looking for regulated trading platforms in Mexico, you need to consider what assets you need (stocks, ETFs, funds), how much you can initially invest, and what kind of tools matter to you. Commissions vary quite a bit depending on your trading volume. For me, the most important thing is that they are regulated, because at least then there’s someone supervising that they don’t do shady things with your money. Is anyone else into finding a trustworthy broker?
