When you open a stock app and see strange abbreviations after the stock, right? CA XD XM XN, what exactly are they? Have you ever wondered?

Actually, these abbreviations are very important for stock investors because they tell us that the stock is about to have some kind of movement. Let me compile their meanings for you.

Starting with CA, which stands for Corporate Action. It means the company is about to undertake some action within 7 days. When you click on it, it will show what the action is and when it will happen. Usually, it appears as abbreviations to help us understand.

The first group is abbreviations starting with X, which stands for Excluding. It means investors will not receive certain rights. For example, XD stands for Excluding Dividend. If you buy the stock when it goes XD, it indicates you will not receive dividends this round. But if you hold until the next XD, you will receive dividends then.

XM means Excluding Meetings. If you buy at that time, you won't have the right to attend the shareholders' meeting. XW stands for Excluding Warrant, meaning you do not have the right to purchase warrants issued by the company. XR means Excluding Right, which means no right to subscribe for new shares, often in the case of a capital increase to raise funds for business expansion.

There are also XS, XP, XA, XE, XN, XB, each indicating rights that will disappear when buying the stock during that period. For example, XN stands for Excluding Capital Return, meaning no return from capital reduction.

The second group is the letter T, which appears on stocks with very high prices and speculative activity. The stock exchange has implemented measures to restrict trading, divided into T1, T2, T3, in order of severity. T1 means you can only buy with a Cash Balance account. T2 is a higher level, still buying with cash but no collateral allowed. T3 is the highest level, which also prohibits netting. This means that after selling the stock, the buying power will return the next day instead of immediately as usual.

The third group includes warning signs for investors, such as H for Trading Halt, meaning trading is temporarily halted for one session, often due to leaked news before the company officially reports it. SP stands for Trading Suspension, which lasts longer than one session. NP means Notice Pending, indicating the company has something to report. NC stands for Non-Compliance, meaning the company may be delisted. ST indicates Stabilization, where the company is maintaining price stability. C stands for Caution, meaning the company faces high financial risk.

In summary, understanding these abbreviations is very important because they tell us what will happen to that stock. You can easily click to see more details. I recommend checking if there is a CA or other symbols before buying new stocks to avoid surprises and invest carefully.
