I recently discovered a problem: when looking at foreign exchange rates, I often get confused about the currency symbols of different countries. The $ symbol is used by over 30 countries, which can be really confusing. Later, I looked it up and found that there is a currency chart for various countries that I can refer to, which organizes the common symbols.

For example, the euro is € , the British pound is £ , the Japanese yen is ¥ , the Korean won is ₩ , and the Thai baht is ฿ (this symbol also represents Bitcoin in the crypto world, which can be confusing). An interesting point is the ¥ symbol, used by both Japan and China, but representing different currencies, so it should be written as CNY¥ or JPY¥ to distinguish them.

The most practical thing is the shortcut keys: on Mac, pressing Shift+Option+2 can produce the euro symbol; on Windows, pressing Alt+E. This saves the trouble of copying and pasting. If you also frequently trade forex or invest internationally, this currency chart and shortcut keys are definitely worth saving. They make identifying currency pairs much faster when checking rates.
