Buying Bitcoin in 2026 is easier than you think. But you need to understand clearly first what kind of way you want to play it, because there are many options, and each one suits a different kind of person.
When Bitcoin rose to $126,000 in October 2025 and then fell to $78,000 now (May 2026), Thai people started asking whether it’s still in time to buy Bitcoin, and how much money is needed at the minimum.
The most common misconception is that you need several million baht to be able to play. That’s not true. Some platforms start at 100 baht, or even as low as 1 baht. If you trade through a CFD broker, you can start with a few hundred to a few thousand baht.
There are three main ways to play Bitcoin: an Exchange where you hold the actual coins, a CFD broker where you speculate based on price volatility without having to hold the coins, and a Wallet for long-term storage.
If you’re a beginner, it’s better to start with Buy & Hold. Use the DCA method—buy the same amount each month. You don’t need to watch the screen all day. Even those who have been DCA-ing since 2020, through the 2022 bear market, are still in profit now.
As for buying Bitcoin, it’s very simple. The two most widely used methods among Thai people are: depositing via Visa/Mastercard, which is fast but charges a fee of 1.5–3.5%, and bank transfers via QR Code, which is slower but free or has a very low cost.
Most importantly, don’t let emotions drive your decisions. Don’t use money that you need to pay rent. And don’t touch leverage higher than 1:5. For beginners, 10–20% daily volatility is normal. If your nerves aren’t strong enough, every time it drops you’ll feel like selling to cut losses.
Another thing to watch out for is not trusting any platform 100%. Remember FTX? The big platform collapsed in 2022, and customers lost several billion dollars. If you hold a lot of coins, it’s better to move them to a Cold Wallet. Otherwise, not your keys, not your coins.
In short, buying Bitcoin isn’t hard at all. Start with a small amount, study the system until you understand it, choose a platform that has a license from ก.ล.ต., or a license from an internationally recognized regulator, and play according to your own plan. Don’t just follow other people’s trends.
