Since I started trading Thai stocks, I've always wondered what time the afternoon stock market opens for sure, because sometimes I miss the morning session and want to know if there's still a chance in the afternoon.

So I looked up the information, and it turns out that the Thai stock market is divided into two trading sessions. The morning session opens from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, then takes a break. As for the afternoon session, it starts at 2:30 PM and ends at 4:30 PM.

What I found is that before the market officially opens, there is a pre-open period of 25 minutes where the system gathers orders to give a rough idea of prices, followed by a random time of 5 minutes during which the system randomly selects the actual opening time to prevent price manipulation. Therefore, the actual opening time varies each day.

For those who like to speculate during the opening, the morning session opens as early as 9:55 AM and as late as 10:00 AM. The afternoon opens between 2:25 PM and 2:30 PM. This is when prices are highly volatile because there are pending orders from the closing period and recent news. If you want to know the exact opening time, you should keep an eye on this random time window.
