Techub News reports that, according to CryptoBriefing, Chairman Glenn Thompson and senior member Angie Craig of the U.S. House Agriculture Committee have written to President Trump urging him to nominate four CFTC commissioners. Currently, four of the five positions at the agency are vacant, with only Chairman Michael Selig serving. As the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act advances, the CFTC will gain broad regulatory authority over spot trading of digital commodities. Legislators warn that rules made by only one commissioner for new markets will face legal and political challenges, potentially undermining regulatory legitimacy. Senator Amy Klobuchar has proposed that new rules should only take effect after the confirmation of four commissioners.
