I just found out that the Thai stock market has this kind of opening and closing schedule. It's not open for trading all day as I thought. The system is quite complex.

Around 9:30 AM in the early morning, there is a pre-open period where the system gathers orders first, and between 9:55 and 10:00 AM, there is a random market opening time. This means that the actual opening time is not fixed. In the morning, trading is available from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM, then there is a break. For Thai stocks, the market closes in the evening, and in the afternoon, trading resumes from 2:00 PM until 4:30 PM. But before the official close, there are also pre-close and random closing periods.

What’s interesting is why there are random opening and closing times? Because if the opening and closing were fixed, speculators could predict the times in advance and potentially manipulate the prices. The random system prevents that. It seems to be very important for serious traders.

The fact that Thai stocks close in the evening is also useful information to remember. If you want to trade at a certain time, you need to know the schedule precisely; otherwise, you might miss opportunities. 📊
