Techub News reports, citing U.Today, that Cardano developer Input Output Group has released a new research proposal aimed at improving the network’s quantum readiness and long-term resilience. The proposal sets out three strategic themes—human-centered design, scalable architecture, and post-quantum security—and plans to systematically enhance network security through a layered approach. The proposal is part of the Cardano Vision 2026 roadmap and includes 15 programs divided into 6 clusters, with expected output of 42 research deliverables and 5 Cardano improvement proposals. In terms of background, research from Google’s Quantum AI team recently found that quantum computers might be able to crack elliptic-curve cryptography used by Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with fewer than 500k qubits, prompting the blockchain industry to accelerate its transition to post-quantum security.
