Whether you're a beginner or an experienced trader, you probably pay attention to stock market opening hours. Because during the initial moments when the stock market opens, prices tend to be very volatile. It’s better to know exactly when.

The Thai stock market is divided into two main sessions: morning and afternoon. The morning session starts around 10:00 AM and continues trading until 12:30 PM. At noon, the market closes for a short break, then reopens in the afternoon around 2:30 PM. Trading continues until 4:30 PM, when the market closes.

What you need to know is that between the morning and afternoon sessions, there is a 25-minute preparation period before the market officially opens. During this time, buy and sell orders are collected to give an approximate price. There is also a random 5-minute window for opening and closing to prevent price manipulation.

Do you want to know why understanding this is important? Because stock trading isn’t like trading money, which can be done anytime. Stocks can only be bought and sold during market hours. If you don’t know the exact times, you might miss important trading opportunities easily. The market opening is a great chance for those who like speculation because prices tend to move a lot.
