It's a common question to see: what does trading mean, and can it really make a profit? I'll share my experience.
Trading means buying and selling various assets with the hope of making a profit from price changes, whether it's stocks, cryptocurrencies, currencies, or other commodities. The basic understanding is to buy low and sell high, then patiently wait for the profit.
When we start, we need to find a trustworthy platform first. There are many options, but you should consider fees, regulation, and customer service. I think Mitrade is a good choice because it is licensed by multiple authorities, has low commissions, and supports the Thai language.
Most importantly, understand that trading involves risk. It doesn't mean you will make 100% profit every time. You need a good strategy, analyze the economic situation, industry trends, and company performance. Random trading is more like gambling.
There are many ways to trade: day trading for quick profits but requires watching the screen all day; swing trading for a balance between time and profit; or long-term trading if you prefer to sit back and let your money work.
For cryptocurrencies, it's similar. Trading means very short-term buying and selling, such as scalping, which profits from small price movements, or swing trading, holding positions for days.
In forex, it's the largest market in the world, open 24 hours. EUR/USD and USD/JPY are popular pairs. Leverage can yield high returns, but losses can be just as high.
Before starting, five things to know are: first, assess why you want to trade; second, study information thoroughly; third, learn the terminology used in the industry; fourth, manage risk well; and fifth, choose a reputable broker.
Trading means making decisions based more on data than emotions. I believe practicing with a virtual demo account is a good way—using virtual money, say $50,000, to familiarize yourself with the market without risking real money.
For stock trading, long-term investing usually yields better returns, especially with good companies that pay dividends. Day trading stocks is more exhausting and requires monitoring the market all day.
Gold trading is also popular because it has less volatility. CFDs are a common method because you don't need to hold physical gold, and you can profit as if you owned it.
Finally, trading is about continuous learning. No one can win the market 100%. Discipline is essential—don't trade based on emotions. Consistency is key. You might lose today, but there's still a chance tomorrow. Importantly, choose a trustworthy broker and start with small amounts, gradually increasing as you gain experience.
