I've been testing a bunch of free AI tools lately and thought it was cool to share what’s actually working. Basically, I’ve discovered that I no longer need to spend money on expensive software to do cool things.
For text, ChatGPT remains the standard even in 2026. The free version now uses GPT-5 (with limits, of course), but after hitting the limit, it switches to a mini version that’s still pretty fast. You can do writing, programming, summaries... everything you can imagine. Google’s Gemini is also very good now, especially because it pulls real-time updated data from the web. And there’s DeepSeek, which nobody expected, but it’s excellent at analysis and math.
For those working with video, Lumen5 is incredible. You input a text and it turns into a ready-to-post video for TikTok or Instagram in minutes. Descript also saves lives if you do podcasts or video content because it edits through the text itself.
Image generation? There’s NightCafe, which is free with daily credits, and the folks who want realistic faces use that site that generates people who don’t exist. For those with money, Midjourney is on another level, but it’s not free.
For studying and research, SciSpace is like having a private tutor. You send a scientific article and it explains everything simply. ChatPDF is also top-notch if you need to quickly understand lengthy documents.
The cool thing is that by combining ChatGPT, Gemini, and DeepSeek, you cover almost everything related to text. For images and videos, you can assemble your combo depending on what you need. Many people don’t realize these AI tools are so advanced and accessible now.
What’s happening is that platforms with free AI websites are finally delivering professional quality without you paying anything on the basic plan. Is there a limit? Yes. But for most daily tasks, it works perfectly.
If you work in marketing, design, education, or content creation, it’s really worth exploring these options. Honestly, I don’t understand why people still pay a lot for tools when there are so many good free options. Is anyone else using these AIs? What’s your favorite?
