Been looking into commodities trading in Australia lately and honestly there's way more options than I thought. Spent way too much time comparing these brokers and figured I'd share what stood out.

So if you're thinking about trading commodities in Australia, the usual suspects are Mitrade, eToro, Plus500, IG Group, and a few others. What's interesting is they're all pretty different depending on what you're after. Like Mitrade seems solid for beginners - no commission, just spreads, and you can trade gold, oil, natural gas without owning the actual stuff. eToro has this copy trading thing which is kind of wild if you want to follow what experienced traders are doing.

For the more technical crowd, CMC Markets and IG Group have better charting tools and research. Interactive Brokers is apparently best if you're doing high volume. Saxo Bank is there too but fees are higher. AvaTrade's pretty beginner friendly with educational content.

The thing about trading commodities in Australia is you've got options whether you want to keep it simple or go full technical analysis mode. Spreads vary between platforms - some charge 0.02% to 0.4%, others have point-based models. No commissions on most of them which is nice.

Honestly the best choice depends on whether you're just starting out or if you've been trading for a while. Beginners probably want something intuitive with lower stakes. Experienced traders want better tools and lower fees for bigger positions. That's basically the whole game when you're trading commodities in Australia - matching the platform to where you're at.

Anyone else using these platforms? Curious what people actually prefer beyond the marketing stuff.
