Today, on-chain data viewing was slow again, and I thought my internet was down… Later I realized it was probably not the chain being slow, but rather those middlemen “struggling”: sometimes the indexer needs to fill in historical data, or the Subgraph (organizing on-chain data into searchable indexes) is out of sync, or your RPC node is rate-limited, and it just gives you a “please try again later” message. Basically, what you see isn’t the true form of the chain, but a shadow reflected through several layers of mirrors, and when the mirrors fog up, they shake a bit.

It’s also quite similar to the recent “attention as mining” model in social mining/fan tokens, where everyone is fighting for eyeballs as computing power, and when it gets crowded, the frame rate drops… Anyway, I now open multiple data views for comparison, so I don’t jump to big market signals just because of a lag, as there are already enough narratives about losses.
