Techub News reports that, according to CryptoBriefing, Thai authorities have recently carried out operations across multiple provinces to crack down on illegal Bitcoin mining, seizing thousands of mining machines. Among them, a hideout in Nan Province is suspected of stealing over $80k worth of electricity, and the DSI special operations also confiscated 3,642 mining machines and approximately 19 million Thai Baht in cash.

It is reported that criminal gangs often set up mining farms in remote areas, committing theft by tampering with electric meters to underreport electricity usage. Thai authorities stated that such illegal connections pose serious fire hazards, and high-power electricity consumption can cause imbalance in the power grid.
Currently, authorities are strengthening tracking and cracking down on related financial infrastructure.
