CoinWorld News, the U.S. Navy's "Ford" aircraft carrier returned to Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia on May 16, ending an 11-month deployment. The deployment lasted 326 days, breaking the record for the longest deployment of a U.S. military aircraft carrier since the Vietnam War. Since June last year, the "Ford" carrier has been involved in military operations against Venezuela and Iran. The extended deployment has led to crew fatigue and frequent onboard malfunctions. It is reported that in 2025, the "Ford" has issued 32 requests for sewage treatment system maintenance. In March this year, a fire broke out in the laundry room at the stern of the carrier, injuring three sailors, and over 200 sailors received treatment for smoke inhalation. Subsequently, the "Ford" withdrew from the Middle East combat zone and visited ports in Greece and Croatia for repairs and maintenance.
