On May 17th, the launch ceremony for China’s first remote sensing satellite dedicated to cultural relics, “Relic 01,” was held in Changchun, Jilin. “Relic 01” was developed jointly by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. At the launch ceremony, the China Cultural Heritage Information Consulting Center (Information Center of the National Cultural Heritage Administration) and Chang Guang Satellite Technology Co., Ltd. signed a framework cooperation agreement on-site. Next, the National Cultural Heritage Administration will leverage “Relic 01” and the related satellite constellation to promote the integration and application of high-resolution satellite remote sensing, artificial intelligence, and other technologies in the field of cultural relics protection, building a satellite remote sensing monitoring system platform for cultural relics, providing important support to improve the quality and efficiency of cultural relics safety supervision.
