Xiaomi Motors ramps up international expansion
It has been learned that Xiaomi Motors recently underwent personnel adjustments, with Vice President of the Automotive Division, Yu Liguo, concurrently serving as the head of the Overseas Business Preparation Team.
According to information, Yu Liguo previously served as President of BAIC Arcfox’s division.
After joining Xiaomi Motors, in January 2022, Yu Liguo first served as Vice President of Xiaomi Motors and Political Commissar of Xiaomi Motors Beijing Headquarters, responsible for overall management of Xiaomi Motors, special business promotion, and organization and talent development at Xiaomi Motors Beijing Headquarters;
In August of the same year, Yu Liguo concurrently served as General Manager of Xiaomi Motors’ Product Department, responsible for product definition and management of product lines;
By 2025, Yu Liguo will oversee the Intelligent Manufacturing Department, factories, and Systems Operations Department.
This time, after Yu Liguo concurrently took on the role of head of the Overseas Business Preparation Team, he will report to Group CEO, Xiaomi Automotive President Lei Jun, and Group President Lu Weibing on two lines.
Currently, Xiaomi Motors is accelerating its overseas expansion.
According to information announced by Xiaomi Group Partner and President Lu Weibing at Xiaomi Investor Day, Xiaomi Motors is expected to officially start its globalization process in the second half of 2027, with Europe as the first stop, followed by entering the right-hand drive market in the first half of 2028.
