So guys, after testing a lot of artificial intelligence tools in recent months, I decided to share which ones are really worth using for free. The truth is that most of the best options today cost nothing or very little, and you can do things that only big companies could do two years ago.

I started with ChatGPT because honestly, it's hard not to use. The free version now has GPT-5 (with message limits, of course), but even so, it handles almost everything: writing texts, generating basic images, programming, summarizing articles. After reaching the limit, it switches to the mini version, which is faster. If you need more, it costs $20 a month.

But for those looking for an alternative, Google's Gemini is also very good in 2026. Its big advantage is that it pulls updated data directly from the web, so the answers come with verifiable sources. It integrates with Gmail, Docs, Drive... if you already use Google, it’s very seamless. There’s a very complete free plan.

DeepSeek is another that’s gaining ground. Less known than the previous two, but its performance is surprising. Extremely fast for analysis, math, programming tasks. And it offers unlimited use on the official website without paying anything.

Now, if your work involves video, that’s a different game. Lumen5 transforms text into video almost on its own. Just upload an article, choose a style, and in minutes, you get a ready-to-post video for TikTok or Instagram. The free plan has project limits, but it’s enough to test quite a bit before paying.

For students or researchers, SciSpace is practically essential. Upload a complicated scientific PDF, and it explains everything in simple language. Very useful for theses, dissertations, any academic work.

Descript is amazing for podcasts or videos. It transcribes automatically, edits through the text (like, select the phrase you want to cut and done), removes noise. The free plan has a transcription limit, but it’s enough to do quite a lot.

ChatPDF is simple but very useful: upload any PDF and chat with it. Contract, textbook, technical standard, huge report... you ask, and it responds. No registration needed, unlimited use on the free plan.

For images, there are some options. This Person Doesn’t Exist generates photos of people who don’t exist (no copyright issues). NightCafe offers various artistic styles and is quite affordable. Midjourney is the most powerful, but it doesn’t have a free plan; it starts at $10.

The reality is that with these free AI tools, you can cover almost any need: combining ChatGPT with Gemini and DeepSeek handles text. For images, NightCafe and ChatGPT itself. For video, Lumen5 and Descript work well together. Each free site has its specific purpose, and none are weak—some are just more focused than others.

The cool part is that you don’t need to invest anything to start testing. Create an account, log in, experiment. If you like it and need more features, then consider paying. But honestly, most people won’t even need the paid plan because the free versions already deliver quite good quality.
