Been diving into commodities trading platforms lately and honestly there's way more options than I thought. Started looking because everyone keeps talking about trading oil, gold, all that stuff, but had no idea which platform to actually use.

So I did some research and there's basically two ways to trade commodities - you can do spot trading with ETFs or go the derivatives route with CFDs. The CFD thing is interesting because you can go long or short depending on what you think will happen, plus you get leverage. That's the appeal for a lot of people I guess.

What surprised me is how different these commodities trading platforms actually are in terms of fees and what they offer. Some charge spreads, some have commissions, some combo both. And the beginner-friendly ones versus advanced platforms are pretty different too. Like some are super simple but limited on tools, others have crazy charting features but steep learning curve.

The asset range varies a lot too - some platforms have like 15-20 commodities, others have 100+. Energy stuff like oil and natural gas seem to be on all of them, but precious metals, agricultural commodities, industrial metals... availability differs.

I'm still figuring out which one actually fits what I want to do. Seems like picking a commodities trading platform really depends on whether you're just starting or already know what you're doing. Anyone else been through this research rabbit hole? What did you end up choosing?
