Recently, when I’ve been looking at stock-trading software recommendations, I found that the desktop version is so much better than the mobile version. The screen is bigger, there’s more data, and you can open multiple windows at the same time to keep an eye on the market—something the phone simply can’t compare to.

If you’re a Taiwan stock investor, SanTzu Stock Market is still the top choice, with 24 technical indicators and ten market monitoring/quote-monitoring modes, and free market monitoring is very convenient. The only downside is that placing orders is a bit troublesome—you have to go through other brokers. I’ve tried Mitrade’s desktop version; the interface is clean and intuitive, and even beginners can get up to speed quickly. It also supports trading global assets such as US stocks, Australian stocks, and cryptocurrencies, and deposits/withdrawals in New Taiwan Dollar are friendly for users in Taiwan.

If you want a more comprehensive set of features, Futu NiuNiu is a good option. You can trade Hong Kong stocks, US stocks, and A-shares, and the options calculation feature is especially useful. But if you take technical analysis seriously, TradingView’s drawing tools are unbeatable—over 100 technical indicators, with market quotes and data from around the world. Although it doesn’t provide order placement by itself, it works just fine when used together with other brokers.

Interactive Brokers (IB) is best suited for experienced traders: the features are extremely powerful, but the interface is complex, so beginners may find it a bit difficult to get started quickly. Overall, which stock trading software to recommend still comes down to your trading habits and the markets you focus on. If you prioritize simplicity, choose Mitrade; if you want comprehensive features, choose TradingView; and if you’re deeply focused on Taiwan, choose SanTzu.
