I saw someone ask in the group what it means when a stock goes up with CA, so I thought there might be others curious as well. I’d like to share some clear knowledge about these stock suffix symbols.

In fact, when you open a trading app, you'll see strange abbreviations after the stock name, such as CA, XM, XD, XN. These abbreviations are not just natural symbols; they convey important information about what is happening with that stock.

Let's start with CA. CA stands for Corporate Action, meaning the company is about to make a move within 7 days. When you click to see the details, it will show what the event is and when it will happen. A stock with CA going up means you should be cautious, as a major change is coming.

Besides CA, there are several other symbols in the X group, such as XD. If you buy when the stock is going XD, it means you will not receive dividends this round. But if you bought earlier and hold on, when XD occurs again, you will receive dividends. XM indicates you did not attend the shareholders' meeting. XR means you do not have the right to subscribe for new shares (usually a capital increase).

There is another group of symbols related to rapid price increases, marked with T, such as T1, T2, T3 in order. If marked T1, you must buy with cash only. If it’s T2, you must buy with cash and cannot use it as collateral. T3 is more strict, prohibiting settlement, which means when you sell the stock, the buying power returns the next day, not immediately.

There are also warning symbols like H (Trading Halt), meaning trading is temporarily halted. SP (Trading Suspension) indicates a longer halt, over one session. NC (Non-Compliance) means the company might be delisted. C (Caution) warns that the company has financial issues.

Understanding these stock suffix symbols is very important because they signal what might happen next. If you don’t know them, you might make wrong decisions easily, such as buying a stock when it’s going XD expecting dividends, but actually not receiving any. Therefore, it’s crucial to check these symbols before trading.
