I spent weeks testing these free AIs and I found it incredible how much they've evolved. You no longer need to spend money to access professional tools — today anyone can use the best free artificial intelligence app for practically anything.
I started with ChatGPT because everyone uses it, right? The free version now has access to GPT-5 (with limits, of course), but even so, it's insanely powerful. I write texts, generate basic images, code... all on the free plan. After reaching the limit, it switches to a lighter model that still works well.
Google Gemini impressed me because it searches for real-time information. Like, you ask about recent news and it already provides an update. It integrates directly with Gmail, Drive, and Docs, which is super convenient if you work within the Google ecosystem.
Now, if you want pure efficiency, DeepSeek is amazing. Fast responses, good at calculations and logical reasoning. Many people don’t know it, but it’s definitely worth testing.
For videos, Lumen5 is practically magical. You paste an article and it turns it into a social media-ready video. It has a watermark on the free plan, but it works. Descript edits podcasts and videos through text — you select a phrase and it removes it from the audio. Very creative.
For those working with PDFs, ChatPDF is a life saver. You upload any document and chat with it, like an assistant that reads the entire file. SciSpace is great if you study — it simplifies scientific papers and complex articles.
Regarding images, Midjourney no longer has a free version (unfortunately), but NightCafe and ChatGPT/Gemini’s image generation cover it well. There’s also 'This Person Does Not Exist' which generates realistic faces without copyright — very useful for mockups.
The cool thing is you don’t have to choose just one. Combining ChatGPT + Gemini + DeepSeek solves 90% of text needs. For images, ChatGPT and NightCafe work well. For video and productivity, Lumen5, Descript, and SciSpace complete the package.
Honestly, the best free AI app depends on what you do. But the great thing is that all these tools are available without spending anything — or almost nothing. Anyone can create more, better, and faster nowadays. For those working in marketing, education, design, or content, this really changes the game.
Is anyone else here testing these AIs? What’s your favorite?
