Just spent way too much time researching commodity trading platforms and honestly, the options are pretty wild. Everyone keeps asking me which one's best but it really depends on what you're after, you know?
So I looked at the main ones people talk about. Mitrade seems to be the go-to if you want something straightforward - no commission, just spreads, and you can trade stuff like gold, oil, natural gas without actually owning them. The CFD model is kind of nice because you can go long or short depending on what you think the market's doing. They've got leverage up to 1:400 on some metals which is wild. Demo account is handy too if you're just starting out.
Then there's eToro with their whole copy-trading thing where you can basically mirror what other traders are doing. Spreads are a bit higher though compared to Mitrade, and they charge you if you don't use the account. Plus500 is simpler - no commissions, just spreads, but less educational stuff. IG Group has way more research tools and analytics if you're into that, but the fees add up quick.
CMC Markets has solid charting tools and competitive spreads, Saxo Bank is more for advanced traders, Interactive Brokers is basically for professionals with their futures access, and AvaTrade is beginner-friendly with MetaTrader support.
The thing is, if you're just getting into commodity trading platforms, Mitrade or AvaTrade seem like the easier picks. If you've got experience and want advanced stuff, IG Group or CMC Markets might be worth it. The fees really matter - spreads from 0.02% to 2.0 depending on the platform, so it adds up over time. I'd probably start with a demo account first though, just to see what actually works for your style.
