Been looking into gold trading apps for Aussies lately and honestly there's way more decent options than I expected. Everyone says you need to go overseas for good spreads but that's not really true anymore if you pick the right platform. The whole ASIC regulation thing actually matters too—not just for compliance but because you know your money isn't disappearing into some dodgy offshore setup. So I checked out like seven of these gold trading platforms and wanted to share what actually stands out. The spreads are tighter than they used to be, execution is solid on most of them, and the PayID funding makes everything super convenient. Not all of them are equal though. Some are genuinely better if you're just starting out, others are clearly built for people who trade actively. Here's the thing about gold CFDs in Australia—you can trade 24/5, use leverage up to 1:20 if you're retail, and you don't need to own actual physical gold. Way lower capital requirement than futures or bullion. That's why so many Aussies are into it. Mitrade is probably the easiest entry point if you're new. Clean interface, not cluttered, and the spreads hover around 0.12–0.18. Their PayID deposits are instant and withdrawals hit your account same day. If you're already trading and want tighter spreads though, Pepperstone and IC Markets are where it's at. Pepperstone's Razor account can get you spreads as low as 0.08, and execution is crazy fast—under 25ms. IC Markets is the real ECN play if you want raw pricing and deep liquidity. Vantage is solid if you're holding positions overnight—their swap rates are reasonable. FP Markets and Fusion Markets both keep costs low, which matters if you're scalping or trading intraday. Fusion especially is cheap—0.10 spreads and only 2.25 commission. Then there's Eightcap if you're all about TradingView charts and alerts. The integration is smooth and it's still competitive on spreads. All seven are ASIC-regulated, which is non-negotiable honestly. When you're picking a gold trading app, just check: is it actually ASIC licensed, what are the real spreads (not the 'from' marketing BS), how fast is execution during volatile sessions, and can you fund and withdraw in AUD easily. That's it. Don't get caught up in the hype. All these platforms work, just depends on your style. Start with whichever matches what you actually do—whether that's day trading, holding overnight, or just learning the ropes.
