Waiting in line at the convenience store downstairs, the old man in front keeps rummaging through his change.

He clutches a handful of coins, still short two yuan, and the cashier is getting a bit impatient.
The old man blushes with embarrassment.

I see that the elderly are not easy to deal with, and there are many people, so I don’t want to embarrass him.
I casually say, “I’ll help you pay the two yuan you’re short.”

The old man immediately turns around and keeps thanking me, repeatedly praising me for being kind-hearted and young.

My heart feels warm, thinking that a small act of kindness, helping others, is quite happy.

After paying, the old man carries his things and turns around, walking while talking to himself:
“Finally tricked another one, today’s fifth person to help me with change.”

I freeze on the spot.

I thought I was doing good deeds,
but it turns out I am someone’s daily achievement.
