What is a CPU?

The "brain" of a computer, the core of all calculations and control.
It is responsible for:
• Running programs (operating system + various apps)
• Processing data (computing, comparing, storing)
• Controlling devices (memory, hard drives, graphics cards, etc.) to work together
• Responding quickly to instructions
The internal core structure of a CPU includes: control unit, arithmetic logic unit, registers, cache, and more, like a super-precise miniature factory.
Key indicators: number of cores, number of threads, clock speed, cache, manufacturing process — these directly determine performance strength.
From the early CPUs of the 1970s to today's AI era of intelligent heterogeneous computing, CPUs have evolved for over 50 years. They are not only found in computers but are also widely used in smartphones, watches, cars, smart home devices, servers, and even industrial robots.
