Mars Finance reports that on May 16, the charity lunch auction jointly launched by Warren Buffett and his wife together with NBA star Stephen Curry and his wife officially ended on the 14th local time, ultimately closing at $9.0001 million. The winning bidder’s identity has not yet been disclosed. According to the arrangement, the winner may bring up to 7 guests to have lunch with Buffett and the Curry couple in Omaha, USA, by June 24. This auction marks the first restart of Buffett’s charity lunch since 2022. The proceeds from the auction will be split equally between the Glide Foundation and the Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation founded by the Curry couple. Buffett also pledged to make additional donations equal to the deal amount to each of the two organizations, bringing the total charitable funds to approximately $27 million. Data shows that from 2000 to 2022, Buffett’s charity lunches were held 21 times, raising a total of about $53.2 million, including a record $19 million eBay charity auction in 2022.
