ChainCatcher News, according to Hong Kong East Net reports, a 34-year-old mainland man holding a double-journey permit to Hong Kong, after losing about 500k RMB in cryptocurrency trading, suspected emotional distress, posted on social media indicating suicidal tendencies and plans to go to Hong Kong.

Law enforcement agencies received relevant information and launched an investigation. Around 12:30 PM on May 14, they intercepted the man at a fast-food restaurant on Tim Chow Avenue and found a lighter and suspected gasoline on him. The police detained him on suspicion of "possessing any item with the intent to destroy or damage property" and are currently holding him for investigation.

The report states that no one was injured in the incident, and there was no need for evacuation at the scene. The man reportedly had filed multiple complaints about his investment losses to the relevant platform but did not receive a satisfactory response.
