Been looking into commodity trading platforms lately and honestly there's way more options than I thought. Started checking out what's actually available in 2026 and noticed most of them let you trade stuff like gold, oil, and agricultural products through CFDs instead of owning the actual assets.

So I've been comparing fees and features across the major ones. Mitrade keeps popping up as solid for beginners - spreads only, no commissions, and you can get up to 1:400 leverage on precious metals. The platform's pretty straightforward to use which is nice when you're starting out. Then there's eToro with that copy trading feature where you can literally mirror what other traders are doing, which honestly seems helpful if you don't want to figure everything out from scratch.

For people who want something simpler, Plus500 and AvaTrade both seem decent - competitive spreads, easy interfaces, nothing too complicated. If you're more advanced and want deeper research tools, IG Group and CMC Markets have better charting and analytics. Interactive Brokers is wild if you're trading high volumes - their cost structure is insane for that use case.

The thing about commodity trading platforms is they all let you go long or short depending on your strategy, which means you can potentially profit whether prices go up or down. I noticed spreads vary a lot between platforms though - from 0.02% on some to much higher on others. Execution speed matters too since commodity prices swing constantly.

Most of these commodity trading platforms are regulated which is important. I'd probably start with Mitrade or AvaTrade if I was just getting into this, but honestly depends what you're comfortable with and how much you want to trade. Anyone else using these platforms? Curious what people actually prefer.
