X releases a major algorithm update with Ad-Mix logic, changing 187 files since January.

According to Beating, X's official algorithm repository released its second major update commit on May 15, four months after Elon Musk promised to open-source the platform's recommendation algorithm in January.
This update involved 187 files, added 18,263 lines, deleted 926 lines, and advanced from architecture documentation to functional reasoning pipelines and ad insertion logic.
The Phoenix recommendation model now has an end-to-end demonstration pipeline that can execute candidate recall, rank content based on predicted engagement metrics (likes, replies, retweets, dwell time), and compute final ranking scores.
Notably, this update fulfills Musk's original promise by adding ad-mix code, indicating that ad placement is determined by safe time intervals, adjacent content risk, brand safety rules, and keyword policies—rather than fixed positions.
Additionally, extra modules for spam detection, post classification, and policy enforcement have been introduced. #Gate广场五月交易分享
