According to Hong Kong's East Net, a 34-year-old man from mainland China is suspected of losing about 500k RMB in virtual currency trading. After multiple unsuccessful complaints, he posted a message revealing his plan to come to Hong Kong to attempt suicide. Hong Kong police later found the man on May 14 and detained him on suspicion of "possessing any item with the intent to destroy or damage property." He is currently still in custody for investigation.
The report states that no one was injured in the case, and there was no need for evacuation. The report did not disclose the name of the virtual currency platform involved, and the details of the loss and complaints are still to be confirmed.
