Senate Confirms Kevin Warsh as Fed Governor, Chair Vote Could Come by May 14

The U.S. Senate confirmed Kevin Warsh as a Federal Reserve governor in a 51-45 vote on May 12. His 14-year term succeeds Steven Miran and begins retroactively from Feb. 1 of this year. The Senate also advanced Warsh’s separate four-year nomination as Fed chairman with a cloture vote. A final chair confirmation could come as early as May 14, before Jerome Powell’s term ends on May 16.
