I see that Bitcoin is still strong in 2026, so I’ve been looking for a good mining program to start getting into mining. I’ve gathered experience from trying out several options already, and I’d like to share 10 Bitcoin mining programs that work well and are mostly free.

For those who have ASIC miners like S19 or S21, I recommend Awesome Miner. It can manage hundreds of mining machines from a single screen, and it also has features to customize Antminer so it uses less power and delivers more power. If you’re a beginner who only has a desktop, Cudo Miner is a great helper. It automatically calculates which coin is the most worthwhile, then switches you to mining it. It also pays out in Bitcoin, reducing hassle by up to 95%.

If you don’t want to deal with installing CryptoTab Browser software, that’s an option too. Just change your browser and browse the internet normally, and you’ll keep receiving Bitcoin continuously. However, the profit is lower than using a separate graphics card.

For people who prefer simplicity, MultiMiner automatically detects your hardware and lets you choose which coin you want to mine. It supports ASIC, GPU, and FPGA. Kryptex Miner is also good—it's suitable for gamers with powerful GPUs, because it runs in the background when you’re not playing games.

For those who want flexibility and advanced control, CGMiner is still a legend in the mining world. Even though it’s old, it still works well with ASIC machines—especially. The downside is that it requires the Command Line, which isn’t suitable for beginners. EasyMiner is better: it has a good-looking interface and a Moneymaker mode that lets you start mining immediately.

If you have FPGA mining hardware, BTCMiner works well. It automatically adjusts the frequency to reach the maximum hash rate. DiabloMiner uses OpenCL, making hashing fast. NiceHash Miner isn’t mining directly—instead, it sells your hashing power to others and then you receive the rewards in Bitcoin. That makes it the most worthwhile and the easiest.

When choosing a Bitcoin mining program, you need to look at what hardware you have. Put security first, and then check whether the fees are worth it. In most cases, free programs are already enough, depending on what you truly need.
