Labor shortage Japan Airlines to introduce humanoid robots

Japan Airlines announces that starting in May, it will attempt to introduce humanoid robots to perform ground service work at Tokyo Haneda Airport to save labor.

According to BBC News on the 28th, this experimental project is a two-year collaboration between Japan Airlines and GMO AI Robot Company. JAL stated that ground service operations are highly dependent on human labor, and traditional fixed automation equipment and single-function robots are difficult to adapt to existing infrastructure and complex operational processes, whereas using humanoid robots does not require major modifications to existing airport facilities or aircraft structures.
