Bitcoin Fog appeal challenges DOJ venue theory for global crypto services

A federal appeals court heard arguments over whether Bitcoin Fog can be treated as operating in Washington, D.C., even though the defense said the service was run abroad. Roman Sterlingov was convicted in 2024 on charges tied to the crypto mixing service, and the appeal now focuses on venue and money transmission law.
