I just checked the cost of living index and there's something interesting: Zurich remains the most expensive city in the world with 112.5 points, almost 12.5% more expensive than New York. But what surprises me the most is that Switzerland completely dominates the top 6, with Geneva, Basel, Lausanne, Lugano, and Bern occupying all the top spots. It's like everything there is inaccessible.

In the United States, New York is the benchmark with 100 points, so everything is compared to it. San Francisco, Seattle, and Boston are also expensive due to tech demand, but New York remains the most expensive city in the world in America. Honolulu scores around 94.4, which makes sense for being an island.

The curious thing is that Singapore, Tel Aviv, and Hong Kong appear in the ranking but much lower than I would expect. Norway also has several expensive cities like Oslo and Bergen. If the index is above 100, you live more expensive than New York; if it's below, cheaper. Switzerland is clearly the most expensive country in the world in terms of country, but the cost varies quite a bit depending on the region.
