I noticed an interesting trend in January of this year — the wealth of the world's richest people reached a completely new level. It’s no longer just a few percent growth, but a real breakthrough toward even more concentrated global wealth.

The richest person in the world right now is Elon Musk, and the gap between him and the others is simply enormous. 726 billion dollars is an unprecedented figure in the history of personal fortunes. This has never happened before. SpaceX is valued even higher, Starlink is gaining momentum, Tesla continues to grow, plus his influence in AI and neurotechnology is only increasing. Essentially, Musk is now the wealthiest person in the world with a historic lead over his competitors.

But what’s interesting is that he is followed by no less influential figures. Larry Page with 270 billion — Google/Alphabet is clearly winning on the AI wave. Jeff Bezos in third place with 255 billion, AWS and Amazon logistics are running like clockwork. Sergey Brin, Larry Ellison, Mark Zuckerberg — all are in the top 10, and all are tech entrepreneurs.

What’s happening here? It’s no coincidence. First, artificial intelligence and cloud computing are growing exponentially. Second, space and semiconductors have become the main growth sectors. Third, American tech companies simply dominate the global market. And fourth, those who have held onto their company shares from the very beginning are now seeing their bets pay off multiple times.

Overall, this reflects a deeper trend — technological innovation is becoming the main driver of global wealth. The richest person in the world is no longer a financier or oil magnate, but someone who has invested in the future. It’s fascinating to watch how this will develop further.
