China Petrochemical’s Ziyang Dongfeng Shale Gas Field in Sichuan has had its proven geological reserves of 23.5687 billion cubic meters examined and approved by an expert panel under the Ministry of Natural Resources. This marks the birth of a China’s ultra-deep, trillion-cubic-meter-class shale gas field, and successfully advances shale gas exploration and development into a new ultra-deep frontier with burial depths exceeding 4,500 meters, achieving a leap for China’s shale gas from deep layers to ultra-deep layers.
