Strait of Hormuz Open But Not for Hostile Nations, Iran Draws New Red Line

Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi says Tehran is not seeking nuclear weapons and confirmed the Strait of Hormuz remains open to commercial vessels from “friendly countries.”

However, he warned that passage now requires coordination with the Iranian military, while vessels from hostile nations may face restrictions.

The statement comes as tensions escalate following Trump’s latest remarks, where he said the U.S. would accept a 20 year suspension of Iran’s nuclear program but only if the commitment is “real.”

Trump also claimed the U.S. achieved a “complete victory” in operations against Iran and warned that bridges and power infrastructure remain potential targets.

Global markets are now watching one critical question:
Will diplomacy hold or is the region moving toward a larger confrontation?
