May 15 Evening Gold Analysis: CPI Sparks Short Squeeze, Rebound Still a Shorting Opportunity!

Today, spot gold was hit hard by the unexpectedly high U.S. April CPI, directly breaking below the key 4600 level. It is currently struggling and correcting in the 4550-4560 range, like being pressed to the ground and barely able to stand up.

The technical picture is ruthless: the daily candle closed below the downtrend channel’s lower boundary, indicating a strong bearish momentum; although the short-term RSI is oversold and trying to "breathe," the 4580-4600 zone has quickly changed from support to a "roadblock," making rebounds very difficult.

Evening Trading Recommendations

• Short positions: Resist at 4585-4595, decisively short, with a stop-loss above 4610, targeting 4540→4530

• Long positions: Only consider a light position when initially touching the 4525-4530 area, with a stop-loss below 4510, targeting 4550→4560

• Core logic: The bearish dominance remains unchanged; rebounds are good opportunities to short, avoid blindly chasing longs!
